configurations that require N+1 redundant power are restricted to a maximum of 24-GB of
memory. If N+1 redundant power is not required, 32-GB of memory is supported. The patch to support greater than 2-GB of memory per system is
located at:
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/andrea/patches/v2.2/2.2.17
(patch name: bigmem-2.2.18pre2-18.bz2)
The following minimum operating system versions require the patch:
- Linux RedHat V6.2
- Linux SuSE V6.3 (Kernel V2.2.17) |
Step 4 -
Additional Power Supplies - Required for third and fourth
CPUs and/or second Disk

- Third power supply provides full N+1 redundancy
for configurations restricted to a maximum of 24-GB of memory. If N+1
redundant power is not required, 32-GB of memory is supported.
