Overview
Compaq Insight Manager LC is a tool for managing workgroups of PCs that’s easy to install and use in minutes! Designed around Web-based Enterprise Management (WBEM) standards, Insight Manager LC draws on pervasive Internet technology to provide a common foundation for managing networked PC systems. Using a web browser as the user interface, you can browse directly to a web-enabled management agent to get PC system information and status or browse through the Insight Manager LC application to manage receive alerts and update system software. This architecture gives you great flexibility in managing your workgroup anytime, from anywhere.

Since Insight Manager LC is based on industry standards, it works with Compaq PCs and PCs from other leading vendors. It can gather system configuration information and receive fault alerts from any PC that provides DMI v2.0 data. Furthermore, Insight Manager LC supports additional management features on Compaq PCs for remotely troubleshooting and updating system-level software that have not been standardized by the industry.

Compaq gives you the power to choose the management tool that’s right for you. Insight Manager LC is part of the Compaq Insight Manager family of system management software products. You can start with Insight Manager LC to manage your PC workgroups and then scale up to Insight Manager XE to manage devices across the enterprise when you’re ready. The two products work together in a complementary manner. The user interfaces of the products have a consistent look with many shared elements that makes it easy to switch from one to the other.

  • Provided on Compaq desktops, portables, and workstations with Management Agent v3.51 or later. This level agent will provide DMI data and alerts to Insight Manager LC.
  • The Compaq Insight Manager LC Client SoftPaq provides an integrated utility for installing the Compaq Management Agent v4.30 and other client PC software components required to support the full capabilities of Insight Manager LC that include updating BIOS and hardware device drivers, remote diagnostic testing, and changing security settings.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later
