MultiBay Design
The MultiBay design allows for user-customization with a DVD Drive or 1.44-MB diskette drive, 24X Max3 CD-ROM Drive option, SuperDisk LS-120 Drive option, or second Hard Drive option. For greater flexibility, MultiBay devices are interchangeable between the system and the optional Mobile 6500 Expansion Unit. In addition, an optional Iomega Zip Drive is available for use in the Mobile 6500 Expansion Unit only.

Standard configuration at the time of announcement (9/9/98) is considered to be one battery, a 1024 x 768 x 65K panel set at 50 percent brightness, 64-MB RAM and no drives other that the hard drive active.
