The PowerStorm 300 Graphics Controller is an optimized mid-range 3D
graphics controller providing solid 3D application performance.
Overview
The PowerStorm 300 PCI graphics controller is a high performance
3D graphics solution for users working in demanding true color environments.
The PowerStorm 300 is based on the REALimage 2100 from Evans &
Sutherland and its 3D application performance makes it an ideal
choice for CAD, CAM, DCC, solids modeling and visual data analysis
applications. The PowerStorm 300 provides optimized support for
OpenGL 1.1, and full support for Tru64 UNIX and OpenVMS.
Performance
The PowerStorm 300 PCI graphics controller incorporates 15 MB
of frame buffer memory and 16 MB of texture memory. The bilinear
fill rate of 90M pixels/second and trilinear fill rate of 45 M pixels/second
and ability to render 4M filled, 25-pixel triangles / second are
key performance features of this high performance 3D graphics solution.
Functionality and uses
The PowerStorm 300 PCI is a high-quality graphics controller for
professionals requiring solid 2D and 3D features and performance
along with full OpenGL 1.1 support. Users of high end 2D/3D graphics
applications, such as Lightwave and Softimage, CAD and CAE applications
like PRO/E, UG, and Solidworks, benefit from the capabilities of
this graphics controller.
Multi-display support is available with most supported Alpha Systems.
The PowerStorm 300 PCI may be used in combination with the PowerStorm

The PowerStorm 300 PCI runs applications in 16.7 million photo-realistic
colors. It also supports true 24-bit color at resolutions up to
1280 x 1024 @85 Hz refresh rate.
