AlphaServer ES45 sets record for number of users per processor in Oracle Applications Benchmark

The HP AlphaServer system with four 64-bit 1GHz Alpha processors running Tru64 UNIX and Oracle9i Database Enterprise Edition for Tru64Unix supported a total of 3,304 users in the Oracle test, for an average of 826 users per processor.

In establishing the new standard, the AlphaServer ES45 system achieved nearly twice the per CPU performance of an eight-processor Sun Microsystem V880 server. The HP server also posted a faster response time.

The Oracle Applications benchmark provides customers with an excellent representation of real world application performance by measuring the concurrent user activity, simultaneous background processing and transaction mix.
