The Compaq AlphaServer DS10L system is well known for packing a
lot of power into a small 1U footprint. Now it is recognized for
its good looks and engineering as well. Not one, but two separate
publications have evaluated the design of the AlphaServer DS10L
system. Both have given the small 1U single CPU AlphaServer high
mention.
Global Innovation Award (Design News Magazine) Design
News magazine rated the AlphaServer DS10L system number one,
giving the system the Global Innovation Award 2000. The award is
given to the design team that best demonstrates how it designed
a specific product for the global marketplace and effectively dealt
with international standards, cultural differences, and other global
issues.
This award exemplifies innovative engineering
for a global marketplace at its best. Winners are
selected
based on the novelty of the design, technical innovation,
and ability of the engineering team to meet the challenges
of designing a product for use around the world.
