SAIC implements, operates and maintains the world's largest fully integrated clinical information system for patient information and clinical needs. SAIC determined through engineering evaluations that the new Compaq AlphaServer GS series servers are suitable for future applications at major hospitals where a large staff of health care providers will rely on them for access to patient data around the clock. With such applications in mind, SAIC is a participant in field testing a prototype AlphaServer GS160 system. This server hosts an integrated clinical information system under OpenVMS.
